Solihull doctor paddles to Manchester in memory of friend with brain tumour

A SOLIHULL doctor has paddled from Birmingham to Manchester to raise funds for a brain tumour charity in memory of a university friend.
Dr Tim Molitor and his fellow doctor friend, 35-year-old GP Dr Danny Magona, from Northwich in Cheshire, completed the gruelling 115-mile five-day trip in aid of the Brain Tumour Research.

The duo were inspired to raise funds after their friend and fellow medic Aria Nikjooy died from a medulloblastoma tumour in February following a three year battle and several rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Northwich GP completes canoe challenge in memory of doctor

A GP from Northwich has completed an epic paddling challenge by canoeing 115 miles in memory of a dear friend who died from a rare brain tumour.
Dr Danny Magona, 35, paddled all the way from Birmingham to Manchester with his fellow doctor friend Dr Tim Molitor, 31 to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.

The duo had been inspired to take on the gruelling five day trip after their friend and fellow medic Aria Nikjooy lost his life to a medulloblastoma in February of this year.

Friends canoeing from Birmingham to Manchester in memory of late friend

Canoeing from Birmingham to Manchester is not easy, but two doctors are taking on the challenge in memory of a dear friend who recently died of a brain tumour.
Dr Tim Molitor and Dr Danny Magona are raising money for their friend Dr Aria Nikjooy who they met at University of Birmingham. They were known as the three musketeers.
Aria's friends described him as 'the life of the party, with a smile, a laugh and witty remark at any opportunity.' His friends say he was a 'great friend in times of need, a wonderful husband and an incredible daddy to his little boy Eliyas.'

Solihull doctor's gruelling challenge to honour friend who died from brain tumour

An anaesthetist from Solihull will be paddling 109 miles from Birmingham to Manchester in a canoe in memory of his doctor friend who died from a rare brain tumour at the age of 30.

Dr Tim Molitor, 31, and his pal from university, GP Dr Danny Magona, 35, are embarking on the gruelling five-day trip to raise money for charity in honour of their friendship group's third member, Dr Aria Nikjooy, who passed away in February, leaving behind his wife Naomi and their three-year-old son Eliyas.

The trio met while studying medicine at the University of Birmingham and worked at hospitals around the city before Aria moved to Manchester and Danny to Northwich.

In memory of Aria Nikjooy

Brain Tumour Research - 11th February 2021
It is with great sadness that we share the news that  Aria Nikjooy has passed away.
Aria was diagnosed with a grade 4 cerebellar medulloblastoma in November 2018, aged 27. He underwent surgery, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and spent two-and-a-half months recovering in hospital.
A year later, Aria was able to return to work on the paediatric rheumatology ward at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, but in March 2020 he was given the devastating news that the tumour had come back and he needed a second craniotomy. Just months later, in July, a routine MRI scan revealed further tumour recurrence and Aria required a third operation and more radiotherapy treatment.
Aria passed away on 8th February, leaving his wife Naomi and their three-year-old son, Eliyas.
